The landscape of academic governance faces significant challenges that hinder progress and inclusivity. A major challenge for feminist reforms is exposing and dismantling male-dominated networks and implementing better leadership structures. We will discuss how failures in governance not only harm individual careers but also represent broader institutional shortcomings. These failures waste public resources, undermine the integrity of scientific institutions, and discourage the next generation of women from pursuing careers in STEMM.
