Join a governance committee

Are you interested in getting involved with SPIE on a governance level? The Society has a range of active committees, providing a variety of engaging opportunities through which to contribute in your area of expertise and interest.

Standing committees report and make recommendations to the Board.

SPIE advisory committees and presidential task forces may be appointed by the Society president for investigation, study, and recommendation within particular areas of concern. These committees and task forces disband at the completion of their duties or at the expiration of the term of the President who appointed them, whichever comes first.

SPIE ad hoc committees may be established by the Board of Directors to carry out a specific task that the Board wishes to undertake. These committees exist for a period of time determined by the Board.
