By downloading an SPIE logo, you agree to the terms of the License Agreement for SPIE Logos. The License Agreement is for use of logos related to SPIE, the international society of optics and photonics, including: the SPIE corporate logo, all SPIE event logos, all SPIE sponsored event logos, and SPIE branch logos (including SPIE Digital Library, SPIE.TV, and SPIE Women in Optics).
SPIE hereby grants to licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty free license to use the (“marks”) solely for the purpose of identifying licensee’s bona-fide affiliation with SPIE and its programs.
Licensee is permitted to use the marks as long as it complies with all standards, policies, and procedures issued by SPIE. Permitted uses of the marks include using the marks on websites and materials to promote SPIE programs and/or to identify licensee’s affiliation with SPIE (for instance as a member or exhibitor).
Use of the marks is limited to materials consistent with the SPIE mission, which is to advance light-based technologies via interdisciplinary information exchange and professional development. The marks may not be used in any manner which implies endorsement by SPIE, or in any other manner which is in conflict with SPIE philosophies or principles as expressed in SPIE standards, policies and procedures. The marks may not be used in connection with any event, publication, or web site that may conflict or compete with SPIE products and programs. All use of the marks must be truthful and not misleading.
SPIE may ask licensee to provide a sample of its web sites and of materials on which the marks are used so that SPIE can determine whether the marks are being used in the manner which complies with this policy.
SPIE, in its sole discretion, shall determine whether any use of the marks is consistent with the SPIE mission, standards, policies, and procedures. Upon expiration or revocation of this license, licensee will no longer have the right to use the marks in any manner, may not distribute any materials containing the marks that it may already have prepared, and must immediately remove any marks from its web site.
SPIE logos may be used for editorial purposes in public media only. They may not be used for advertising, business or personal communication. SPIE logos are registered trademarks of SPIE, and may not be altered in any manner. Copying of logos for further distribution or commercial use is prohibited without the express written consent of SPIE, which also reserves the right to withdraw permission to reproduce copyright material.
