The European Photonics Industry: Overview and Prospects in a Fast-Growing Global Market
27 January 2025 • 1:40 PM - 2:10 PM PST
This presentation will showcase the data and trends from a recent study conducted by TEMATYS in collaboration with Photonics21. Some of the study's key findings were positive for the European and global Photonics industries, suggesting resilience in the context of challenging market conditions characterized by mounting trade tensions and geopolitical risks. The European Photonics industry has experienced significant growth, with a CAGR of over 6%, outpacing European GDP growth even when accounting for inflation. The presentation will also highlight some challenges for the European Photonics industry, including concerns related to China's growing dominance in key sectors and Europe's historical issues in attracting sufficient capital investment to scale promising early-stage companies.
