I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. My broad area of research is Optical sciences, primarily in the topics related to light-matter interaction in optical fibers, development of novel fiber lasers & amplifiers, optical fiber communications. With 13 years of research experience at different levels, I built my career working at 6 institutions in different countries including 4 postdoctoral positions. With over 140 journal and conference papers to my credit, I have made several ground-breaking contributions in the field of nonlinear optics and fiber lasers, both at the fundamental as well at the applied level. A noteworthy scientific contribution is in the discovery of the existence of internal motion of optical soliton molecule in fiber lasers. I also backed academia-industry experience and worked in the projects with THALES, HUAWEI, to mention a few. I have also received several awards and scholarships that include Laser Technology & Engineering scholarship from SPIE, Robert Hilbert memorial grant from OSA, Buti Young scientist from Buti Foundation, CNRS Postdoc Fellowship, to mention a few. I am also an active member of societies with leadership in linking optical science, outreach, and public policy to promote and disseminate knowledge in Optics and photonics.
