Coherent beam combination for deep space optical communications

28 January 2025 • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PST | Moscone West, Room 2003 (Level 2)

Abstract

We propose an efficient multi-stage coherent beam combination scheme for photon-starved signals. Its operation is tested by numerically simulating a deep-space optical communication link with PSYCHE probe parameters and SCPPM information encoding.

Antoni Mikos-Nuszkiewicz received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics from the University of Warsaw in 2020 and 2022, respectively. After that, he has been working toward a Doctoral degree and is with the Centre of New Technologies, University of Warsaw. His earlier research interests focused on characterizing the quantum set in the Bell Scenario and devising schemes testing non-locality for feasible two-mode quantum states of light. His current research is devoted to photon-starved communication and its applications in deep-space communication.
