Quantum Sensing Use Cases for Biomedical Applications: An Industry-Driven Evaluation
25 January 2025 • 4:15 PM - 4:45 PM PST | Moscone Center, Expo Stage, Hall DE (Exhibit Level)
Quantum sensors have capabilities that enable measurements that are not possible using current sensors. For example, quantum sensors offer the possibility of significantly more efficient and accurate medical diagnoses, thanks to their increased sensitivity and novel form factors. Quantum sensors for biomedical applications include optically pumped magnetometers (OPMs), optical frequency combs, and nanodiamonds with nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers. Use cases include subcellular imaging, brain imaging, maternal and fetal imaging, and tissue oxygenation imaging. This presentation will provide the results of an industry-driven assessment of quantum sensing use cases with highest feasibility and potential impact in biomedicine.
