This session will delve into the pivotal role of the CORNERSTONE Photonics Innovation Centre led by the University of Southampton’s Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) in advancing silicon photonics technology. Recently designated as an Innovation Knowledge Centre (IKC) and bolstered by significant funding from the UK government, CORNERSTONE is extending their existing silicon photonics foundry service with new initiatives aimed at supporting start-up companies in the photonics sector. The session will feature leading experts from academia and industry providing a comprehensive overview of the opportunities and challenges in the silicon photonics sector.
