Bridging the Gap of Medical Optical Devices: A Panel Discussion on the Coexistence of Productization and Discovery
27 January 2024 • 2:45 PM - 3:45 PM PST
Biomedical engineering research is often on parallel tracks: researchers want to discover new techniques and tools, while industry aims to create viable products and protect their IP. Moreover, optical medical devices are often very specific to the various specialties of medicine. Much could be gained from building synergy between academia, clinical medicine, and industry. This Photonics Focus-sponsored panel will discuss ways to create crosstalk and collaboration between academia, industry, and the many specialties of clinical medicine.
