SPIE journals announce increases in 2021 CiteScore and Impact Factor
BELLINGHAM, Washington, USA — Today SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, announced 2021 CiteScores and Impact Factors across its journal portfolio. Six SPIE journals saw increases in their Impact Factors, while eight saw a rise in their CiteScore metric. CiteScores are part of the Scopus database, owned by Elsevier, and journal Impact Factors are listed in Journal Citation Reports (JCR) from Clarivate Analytics. CiteScore and Impact Factor are both important citation metrics for STEM journals.
The 2021 CiteScores (first) and Impact Factors (second) for SPIE journals are as follows:
- Advanced Photonics: 13.8 and 13.58
- Journal of Applied Remote Sensing: 3.0 and 1.57
- Journal of Astronomical Telescopes, Instruments, and Systems: 4.3 and 1.91
- Journal of Biomedical Optics: 6.6 and 3.76
- Journal of Electronic Imaging: 2.2 and 0.83
- Journal of Medical Imaging: 5.9 (CiteScore only)
- Journal of Micro/Nanopatterning, Materials, and Metrology: 3.2 and 1.17
- Journal of Nanophotonics: 2.8 and 1.18
- Journal of Photonics for Energy: 3.7 and 1.73
- Neurophotonics: 8.3 and 4.21
- Optical Engineering: 2.6 and 1.35
