I work in engineering because I like to design and fabricate something that can contribute to the society and improve the quality of people's lives, even if it is in a very small area. I liked to do hands-on experiments since middle school and I feel very delighted after solving a problem. I found energy sustainability is an essential problem nowadays, and that is why I work on thermoelectrics.
My primary responsibility currently is to work on the transverse thermoelectrics research project. To verify our idea, I calculate the electrical properties of semiconductor materials we are interested in, and measure the thermal conductivities of various materials.
Do whatever interests you. Don't be afraid of obstacles - you will learn a lot from them.
