Optics and Thin Film Duster
Applied Surface Technolgies is introducing a new CO2 Snow cleaning unit aimed at particle removal from optics. This unit, K1-04-LV, can be used to remove particles from optics, such as telescope optics and substrates of all kinds. Removal of optics from holders is not needed. This unit can be used to clean one or many optical substrate samples before loading for thing film deposition.

Sensor Cleaning
Applied Surface Technologies will show an example of how CO2 snow cleaning can clean sensors in-situ, without disassembly or removal of the sensor. The concept was developed by Ngo and Jang for particle sensors provides residue-free, rapid, effective, and non-destructive cleaning of the QCM crystal. The results indicated effective particle removal and allowed for repeated uses after in-situ cleaning up to 10 times without altering any of the semsor properties.
