Human-Machine-Interface: Device Control through reading out muscular signals
Muscle contraction produces finest electrical currents and magnetic fields. The Q.ANT Magnetic Field Sensor enables the precise measurement of magnetic fields below 300 picotesla enabling device control e.g. for prostheses through reading out muscular signals. The magnetometer is based on quantum physics using nitrogen vacancies (NV) in diamonds. Since this portable and compact technology works at room temperature the Q.ANT Magnetic Field Sensor is suitable for the integration in industrial applications and applications for everyday use. One application of the Quantum Magnetometer is the control of prostheses based on human muscle signals. Taking up these signals, the magnetic field sensor will trigger corresponding movements of the prosthesis. With further miniaturization and increased sensitivity the sensor will be directly integrated into prostheses. In addition, the sensor offers a broad range of further applications in healthcare, patient monitoring and diagnostics.
